Kitchen Nightmares II

It's been snowing yesterday morning and when we woke up this morning it was snowing as well. It was only a matter of time. We live about an hour away from the Alps. Over the past week we could feel it getting colder by the day. I love this time of year. Finally I get to cuddle on the couch with a cup of steaming hot cocoa or a cup of tea.
Somehow I did my back in and most of the time I had to lay down flat on my stomach. The cat used my big butt ahem I mean my hollow-back to get herself comfortable. I also thought I would post some pictures of our messy kitchen. We moved in in February and there is still stuff laying about. It is a shame. We meant to put up a shelf underneath the countertop. We haven't so far, our excuse being that this is where the cat is being fed.
From the look beneath our sink you would think we are alcoholics but we're not. We've had this beer sitting there since June. Plenty of space to prepare stuff. There's not really much space due to the pitched roof.

Our makeshift "breakfast table" which is actually garden furniture. We had every intention to get a nice table and chairs but prefer to sit down at the dining table in the living room. Now we use this to house our microwave and toaster. As you can see still plenty of stuff under the furniture waiting to be turned into a nice shelf...

Hi Kat!
I love taking a look into part of where you live! Your kitchen is really cool. I bet that pitched roof is a challenge at times.

An hour away from the Alps? Wow. Put that on the list of stuff we'll do when you and your husband show me and my family around in 2010. LOL

That pitched roof looks like a pain in the rump!
