Thoughts

Back from our Christmas holidays and I hope everybody had a great time with their loved ones. I cannot believe I haven't been blogging for a whole six days. Time was flying and I did miss it but against all odds I was too busy to sit down and write a post inbetween.

We drove seven hours last Thursday to go see the in-laws and we had a lovely couple of days there. Santa came early and we had our nieces and nephews unwrap the presents we had bought for them. They all still believe in Santa Clause and it was brilliant to see their big eyes as they rushed to check if they could get a glimpse of Santa escaping through the fireplace. Some great Christmas memories surfaced and stories were told by the fireplace.

On Sunday we drove another six hours through snow and ice to get to my parents where we also had a lovely Christmas. A lot of good things have happened and we're really happy and also anxious to move into the next year.

Random thoughts over the past few days:

*My husband was offered a promotion which means he will not be home for the biggest part of the week come February, so these were bittersweet news. Of course I was happy for him so he gets to do what he loves most and we will still be together for three or maybe even four nights a week.

*We caught our little cat attacking the big one. I think they wont be friends ever but at least they haven't killed each other either. I found a few strands of fur in the hall when we came back and only a little while later caught Maunzerl slapping Lilly's a$$. It was hilarious.

*Families tend to fight over Christmas. One of my sisters in law did not think joining our early Santa celebrations and later on complained about it. It was her choice so my husband and his mother told her off. I still felt bad about it.

*I once more realized that I need harmony to function.

*Santa was once again way too generous and we had problems to haul it all away in our car.

* Why do we always end up over indulging on food and sweets? Good intentions? Well they were just that...intentions.

* People drive like idiots the minute it starts to snow.

* Why is there a sex shop near every major rest stop along the highway? Though I suppose this question is only ever asked by women.

* Christmas seems to fly really and it gets worse every year. No sooner than you have unpacked the presents and spent the day with the family, it is all over before the countdown is on again.

All good questions to ponder. Personally, I would rather have family fight and get it out then everyone be cordial and hating each other.

Sex stores, I think you've answered your own question.

I'm glad you had a great holiday!!

There's a sex shop at every major rest stop? Men must love going for drives just for that reason!

Glad you had good holidays and congrats on your hubby's promotion!

All the best in 2008 and I look forward to reading more of you!

My goodness I missed you! I'm glad you're back! Congrats to the hubby; although the decreased time together is not exactly what you want right now, try to keep your mind on the long-term. A promotion is wonderful for a future!

More later...I just wanted to say welcome back! :)
xoxo & hugs!

Welcome back! I missed you! Glad you made it through the horrible weather. They drive like idiots there too? I just thought that was here; specifically between my office and my house. Guess not. Hmm.

Merry (a little late) Christmas!

Congrats on the hubby. That is wonderful. I think the points you pondered were great and I could relate to a lot of them. I hate when people turn stupid when it snows. They do it even when it rains. Drives me up the wall!!

Glad that you have a good Christmas! I can't believe it is almost 2008!!!!

Kat glad you are back. I know what you mean about holidays and having no time to bloggity blog. It sounds like you guys had a lovely time with family minus the fighting with the sister in law. Some people you can never please. I think it is a libra thing about realizing you need harmony to function, I feel the same way. Just in case I am not able to blog until after the New Year. Happy New Year to you and your fam!

What is Christmas without family bickering? An abnormal Christmas, I say.

Melissa You are so right on the family fighting thing. Still happy when everyone merrily went their seperate ways again.

Airam I am sure some guys got some explaining to do as to why their two hour drive suddenly took three hours. But then again there's always "heavy" traffic.

Melisa I missed you too. Glad to be back and can't wait to catch up on your blog.

Pocklock thanks I missed you as well. How come people all over the world suddenly seem to turn into driving idiots the minute it starts snowing?

Steph can't believe it either. Time is flying.

Not so perfect Thank you. I missed all my blog friends and agree on the libra = harmony thing. A Happy New Year to you and your family as well in case we don't speak before.

Valley Girl yep it seems as though Christmas+family=random fights
