Random thoughts

Work today was extremely stressful. E-Mail wasn't working, things got hectic, I forgot to eat and ended up with a massive headache that luckily went away after I had a bite to eat.

We also went to see a tax counselor and OMG was I confused afterwards. Doing your taxes sucks. I actually never handed in a tax return in Germany - ever. After University I moved abroad and have lived there ever since. The counselor couldn't believe it. 31 years old and never done a tax return before.

Tax laws over here makes you lose sleep and hair and your sanity. Paying taxes in Ireland was comparatively easy. Sigh.

I have been thinking of my grandma today. A lot. Funnily enough she rang me after we got home just to get an address and to have a little chat. It was almost creepy. We seem to have a very strong connection.

Everybody in the office is sick. Either coming down with a cold or a stomach flu. The hubby and I are both feeling a bit sickish.

Is sickish even a word?

The hubby and I made an agreement that I would stop buying books from Amazon until I have finished reading the stack of books next to my bed. There's currently eight books that are waiting to be read. I just can't seem to stop buying books.

I am bad at playing boardgames. Last night we played some Rummy and I lost three times. We played until I won at least once before heading to bed. The hubby knows me well. If I don't win a game I will get so frustrated I will not play again.

Did you really win that game or did your husband throw it so that he could finally go to bed?

You make me laugh. I have stacks of books on my bedside table too. I also love board games but get immediately pissy if I start to lose!

@ Travis - Yeah I wondered as well but I won fair and square. At least I'd like to think so. Thanks for stopping by my blog.

@ Don Mills Diva - Always like to hear that I am not alone in buying books like a lunatic and to hear that you can relate with regards to the boardgames, well that's just great.

I to get pissy when I can't win at least one game. Seems the only one I can beat is the 5 year old.

8 books, surely that isn't enough to keep you busy. I hoard books just like my undies....

Hope you both are feeling better soon!

Yes, sickish is a fine word whether it is in the dictionary or not!

What, you mean just having a lovely book is not enough, you MUST read it too? I dunno about that! :)

Does Turbo Tax have a German version? I have been using it in the US since '93 and it is the best software you can buy even if you only get to use it once. I do love it! They make thing S-I-M-P-L-E!

can't you just pay someone to do your taxes for you? ...that's what we do!

Sickish is a word now.

I loved this:
"The hubby and I made an agreement that I would stop buying books from Amazon until I have finished reading the stack of books next to my bed. There's currently eight books that are waiting to be read. I just can't seem to stop buying books."

You made me laugh. I have a stack of books that are on my to read list and yet I buy more and more. I have about 20 books waiting in queue for me to read them.

The kid beat me twice at Monopoly in the past week...I hate Monopoly!
We do taxes every year here and it is never fun.
Seems to be "sick season" everywhere, I hope they have Vitamin Water over there!

Yes I definitely think that SICKISH is a word- because that is how I have been feeling this WHOLE WEEK.

Good luck. I am currently in bed with my book- THE PILLARS OF THE EARTH (soo good by the way)- but also my hubby, baby, laptop and DOG are in the bed and it's getting crowded.. Ahh!

If you if it does, invest 40 bucks and try it out. You may like it as much as I have!
