There are only two things that smell like fish...

one of them is fish.

You can already see where this is heading, can't you? While I used yesterday’s lunch break to run some errands I also went to our favorite pet food store. I mean the smell in these kind of stores is rather overwhelming and I don’t find it very appetizing. Add to that the smell of an unwashed, sweaty lady and you have me backing out the door swiftly.

I have blogged about personal hygiene before and it is beyond me how you cannot shower on a regular basis in this day and age. We all like to have a lie in in the mornings. Occasionally we may even want to skip our daily beauty regime but is this any reason to bother others with your body odor? I didn’t think so. I am sure that all you readers agree with me. Personal hygiene is, well not only personal, it is your personal duty to prevent your body from stinking up any collectively used space.

If you already evaporate a stench as if you haven’t showered in three days, you probably haven’t.

The stench I had to put up with yesterday wasn’t your ‘sorry I was late this morning and didn’t get to shower’ stench. It was downright nasty. I didn’t want to take a breath yet I was stuck in the queue at the check-out while this lady meticulously scanned each tiny can of cat food. It was so bad I thought I might turn blue and die any minute now.

People with customer contact: wash and use a deodorant! That also goes for anyone who goes out in public, who might encounter fellow citizens and not only check-out girls.

I totally agree. Daily showers & deodorant are vital, but what about those people who douse themselves in perfume or cologne?
Sometimes the smell is so overpowering, it makes my eyes water.

Cube You are right. That is even worse. Is it because they try to mask the smell? I have no idea because I think they aren't even aware of the stench they are emitting.

I think they may be trying to cover up the smell. For example,
my daughter went to a party at a friend's house and there was no soap anywhere in the bathroom, or in the guest bathroom. Plenty of smelly body lotions all over the place, though.
