green fingers

Finally Friday night. Long awaited and finally here. Too bad it greatly differs from what I had in mind for a Friday night.

I'm sitting here watching a gardening show. Gardening of all things. Me.

If indeed there is a hell I will go to it, if not for numerous little sins then surely for killing countless plants and I am not even a vegetarian. Get it?

Currently there are only three living plants under my care: chives (for the cat), thyme (can't have bolognaise without it) and a sunflower. All three barely cling to life, judging by how I treat plants you'd think growing them is fucking rocket science and for me? It totally is.

It is a shame really though my plastic orchid made for a good story because when we were out of town my friend spent two days watering it - it does look pretty darn real - until she realized that it was a plastic flower.
She should know me better. LOL

Another way we are twinsies. I can't keep a plant alive to save my own life!

I like the plastic flower idea though. :)

The problem with gardening programmes is that they tend to assume that their viewers are already plant power users. It would definitely be more helpful if they aimed their shows at the lowest common denominator, like all other television.

Until they do, plastic flowers and astroturf are clearly the way to go...

I've almost watered my office mate's fake african violet several times, lol. She has a few in the office and only the one is fake. Plants are the best, I keep many =)
