indigenous people

In search of our dream home we got a few hints regarding potential building ground that would not cost our first born or an arm or a leg for that matter. While driving around the hubby stopped at a beergarden in a teeny tiny village with a population of about 53 people- to ask the folks sitting around sipping their beer- if they knew where the grounds were.
I was watching him from the car. After some wild gesturing he returned to the car, got in and rolled up the windows, so nobody could overhear our conversation and when he was sure nobody could hear us he said dryly "Good Lord, I spoke to the natives."

Yep, deep down in Bavaria it is difficult [understatement of the year] to understand Sepp and Resi gab away.

Hillarious! That was a good one! Before you buy a house I think you should visit several beergardens and have talk with the natives around that place, as some of them might become your new neighbours.

So, how soon before you're talking like them?

I was going to say that we didn't have anywhere like that in Britain, but then I remembered Wales. And Newcastle.
