I won the lottery – what now?
As I said in this post I did follow suit and played the lottery as well.
After all there were 38 million Euro (56 million Dollar) in the jackpot. Who would not try their luck. As my friends and my loyal readers know, I played online. In true geek fashion if you will.
Imagine my surprise when I opened my mailbox this morning to find an email from the lottery people saying that I won. I rushed to open it and found out that I…OMG people I hope you’re sitting down reading this…won 5 Euro. Now I am all for taking care of the penny, knowing that if you do the dollars will take care of themselves. But really, five Euro??? That’s all the lotto fairy could do? At least the last time I won 20 Euro but it just keeps on getting less. I didn’t even have one single number right. I just happened to pick a lottery ticket by chance, that had one single measly right “end number” on which you can win money too. It was rather pathetic.
So it was back to work and slaving away. Ok that was a joke. I actually enjoy working for my company and as I mentioned in a post not too long ago (though probably ages ago in blogger world) I think my boss rocks. The good news however is, that the jackpot was not cracked once again. That means this time around it is worth 43 million Euro (63 million Dollar). But I guess the chances are slim. There is a saying here If you are lucky in love you are unlucky gambling…that’s gotta be it. However this will not stop me from trying my luck again on Wednesday because: you gotta be in it to win it. Hehe.
In that spirit I will enjoy my evening with the hubby and my two lovely bratty cats. They and my family are really the only things I need to be happy.
Hope you are all having a splendid day.

Every time that I come to work, I pass the big billboard indicating the current lottery payout.
On that part of my commute---the daydreaming begins! ...after paying off student loans, cars, & what we owe on the house...I would...
ahhh....sweet lottery dreams....where I haven't a care in the world that money can't seem to fix....
WOO-HOO!! You won 7.3357 dollars! Don't go crazy now!!! Maybe just get the private jet and the yacht will have to wait until next time! LMAO!
You had me going with the title of today's post :)
5 Euro!
That'd be about enough to purchase another ticket...?!
Still, I just discovered your other blog, and my, does it look scrum-diddly-umptious.
You should get a lawyer. That amount of money can't just be handled by people like you and me.
:)
At least you won something. I hardly buy raffle tickets, lottery tickets, etc. anymore because I never win anything. Luckily my hubby subscribes to the "gotta be in it to win it" perspective so I've still got a shot at the lotto.
I love the line "I played on line in true geek fashion" it just cracks me up.
Lainey-Painey I know just how you feel. I have been daydreaming for weeks now :o)
Patty, yes 7 unbelievable Dollars and then some. Gotta be careful, I don't want to lose it all and end up having nothin' ;o)
Katie or shall I say Flanders? I am happy to be able to welcome you on my blog. Love yours. I took the five Euro and put it into 2 new tips :)
Mags- yep I will have to have some legal advice. This much money is just difficult to spend and a pain to declare to the IRS
Uncommon blonde - yeah I am with your hubby on this one. Mine plays as well so we doubled our chances (at nothing) :o)
Not so Perfect- hehe... I am a total geek and I am glad someone is amused by it :)
My heart skipped a beat when you I read your post title! Yippee for Kat but then I realized there was no retirement in your future. Good luck when you play again, you still have a chance at hitting it big!
Hey Kat,
Can I borrow 5 Euro? :)
Myla- thanks for rooting for me
Melisa-sure you can have 5 Euro but only if you use them to visit me ;o) A down payment for the flight if you will ^^
Should I really win I will travel and meet whoever cares to meet me or will throw a huge party with all of you invited :) One can dream, can one not?
Okay Kat, you've got a deal. I think the 5 Euros will get me enough gas to get to O'Hare airport, but I'm not sure...now how will I get the rest of the money? :)
You'd better keep playing.
LOL: or maybe I should! :)
Wow. You're super rich now. Did I mention I was a long, lost relative? ;)
Keep on dreaming - there's nothing wrong with it.
