I am all for a three day weekend

Wow, what a weekend that was and why is it over already? The long weekends seem to pass even faster than your average two day weekend.

The hubby was back from Amsterdam the same night. I first went to the BBQ on my own and picked the hubby up from the airport at 9pm and we went back to the BBQ. It was so great to have a designated driver that I got a bit shitfaced. It was fun.

Sunday was not only Mother's Day but also my grandma's birthday, we ended up driving to my old hometown to surprise my family. My mom was in on the secret as she knew what restaurant they'd go to and when. My grandma didn't even recognize us entering the restaurant- it was quite funny. My entire extended family was there and we had a great time.

We drove home the same evening because the hubby was still on duty and it is imminent that he is close to an airport. Luckily he wasn't called out again.

Yesterday we got some sightseeing done. We drove down to Herrsching, which is beautifully located on a lake called Ammersee (click the Flickr link to see some pics). There was a shitload of people there and all they wanted to do was sunbathe and eat. It was crazy.

Anyway, I am back now and life seems good. The sun is out in full force and it feels like we're in the middle of summer.

I love your comment about how your grandparents didn't recognize you...same with my grandma! Unless she is excepting us it takes her forever to put two and two together :) It's kinda cute and scary at the same time.

Way jealous of your hot sunshine.

Yay for getting shitfaced and having a DD :D

Huckdoll - Yes, isn't it funny and scary at the same time that our grandparents need a while to figure out that it is really us?

The hot weather. Well don't envy us too much, our apartment is starting to heat up and sleeping at night is difficult. Time to crank up the A/C.

So sweet of you to surprise your family for your Gram's bday! Can I just say also that I love your pre-plan to get shit-faced?!

Jules - Planning ahead is important;o).

I like to announce getting shitfaced well in advance so I can avoid hanging a silly sign around my neck that points the cabbie in the right direction in case I can't articulate myself anymore.

Your family must have loved your surprise! And I love that you really did get shitfaced! (I'm lovin' a lot of things today it seems!)

I;m feeling you on the heat...88F at night here last night. Summer is going to be a doozy.

Steph - You said it. The two best things in my life right now.

Taj - That's a whole lot of loving going on today but hey I appreciate that more than some wild torrent of hatred LOL.
