Out with the old, in with the old

Anybody else feel like they have recently defied the time space continuum?

What is it lately? Indiana Jones, 90210, New Kids on the Block? I feel like I was put into a time capsule and catapulted straight back to the late 80's early 90's.

I want out! Because I surely didn't sign up for this. I am all for progress and moving on. Trips down memory lane are funny and a good thing. Good things should come in small measures, even if at first you may not agree but who would want to eat a pound of chocolate or three steaks or five tubs of ice cream? Yeah I would want to. Well we all want that but not really. Indulging too much in a good thing can be a bad thing. Gosh I gotta wrap my brain around that sentence.

Plus I don't want to be made to feel like I am living in the past. Somebody help me because I do not want to go "Back to the Future". The resurfacing of these shows, acts and movies makes me feel really, really old. And to think that just the other day I was so proud of staying out until 5a.m. Ha – in my face sucker because if I really were young, that wouldn’t even have needed mentioning like it was some sort of a “big thing”.

So come on Indy, NKOTB and Lord knows who else, bring it on because little me? Well little me is ready!

Melisa - LoL I am so not happy with it but hey if it makes others happy, fine with me. NKOTB? Never been a fan and I was glad they left the radar and Indy? Well not a fan either, all the more interesting that I will go and see the preview of the new Indiana Jones tonight!!! Lord help me!

I've been thinking the same thing....like maybe those things were better left to VH1 Specials - not that I didn't love me some NKOTB on Today show - because I did. But the idea of them putting out a whole new cd makes me cringe a little.

Well, when Duran Duran comes back around, THEN I'll get excited.

Oh, wait, they're still around. LOL

Cass - They are probably only doing it for their pensions anyway LOL.

Melissa - I hope you're not getting in trouble for calling your NKOTB loving friend a dork ROFL

Melisa - They are? OMG. At least they haven't announced their final concert tour for the 12th time like the Rolling Stones. They annoy me majorly.

Have movie writers run out of original ideas? You forgot about Rock XIV and Rambo XII, 'Get Smart' and 'Speed Racer.' Serious time warp... now if they bring back the Jackson Five or Osmonds, I'm toast.

You know, most of this stuff wasn't that good to begin with...but hey, we were subjected to it, so let's subject our kids to it....*grin*

Considering my NKOTB post, you know how I feel about this! I was going to say what Tara R. said...it's like originality no longer exists. There's even talk of an A-Team movie!

I also just read that they are doing Fraggle Rock for the the big screen as well. Although that one I'd probably go see...lol.

And lol @ doing it for the pensions!

Tara - hehe don't get me started on these ;o) I tried to forget about them. Thanks for bringing it up again. LOL

Dawtch - You have no idea how right you are. They weren't great to begin with but good enough to torture our kids with. hehe if we had to endure them you have to as well :)

Taj - Fraggle Rock? Lord have mercy. LOL

I know..!!! They have done the same thing with children's toys. Although I am not complaining. I don't mind brushing My Littly Pony tails with my daughter. But cabbage patch dolls and care bears are back too. It does make one feel old, they say things always come back into fashion I saw gellies in the store the other day. I was around for the first time they were "in". Uh..I am getting old.

I have to wonder if the new-fangled stars of 90210 will be cursed with the same damned sideburns they had in the 80's.... *sigh*

I think it's partly because original ideas are harder to come by than recycled ones.
