Things that make me go aaaaargh

Among the things that make me scream and I don't mean scream in a pleaseant way like " awwwww look at that insert name of cute animal, small human being, diamond ring etc here " is when people whose number is supressed, respond with a simple "it's me" after I have answered the phone.

Has your mother not taught you how to introduce yourself or how to use a phone? Or do you just think I am clairvoyant? Because as much as I'd like to think I am - I am not and I do not feel like guessing who of my long lost "friends" has decided to grace me with a phone call today.

Do you even have a remote idea of how embarrasing it is to have to ask "Who is this"? Or run possible matches of voice and faces through your head? Apparently you don't because I bet everyone that calls you just introduces themselves properly....

Ha! My "fight or flight" response is to act like I know who the person is and have a generic conversation with them until I can figure it out. Unfortunately I'm only successful about 42.6% of the time.

That drives me crazy too. Identify, people! Identify!!!

We'd be terrible phone buddies....I always say '"Its me" LOL! I figure with all the caller id stuff you know who it is :)

I'm with Melisa...though I will ask who they are...I figure if they are rude enough not to tell me then I can be rude enough to ask!!

We have to work on that clairvoyant stuff, huh?

I have three close friends who do this, all from cellphones, all with similar voices.

I love them all dearly, and have even explained how and why it is annoying to start calls this way, even though I'm so glad that they're calling, to no avail.

It's the audio equivalent to a beloved child's grubby hands covering my eyes, with a "guess who?" The speaker and the embrace are welcome, but the presentation is aggravating and intrusive.

In any case, happy blogoversary, and may this be our biggest problem!
