Beg, steal or borrow - McCain asks Russians for money

Well I actually didn't want to bring up the election in the US and I almost made it. By two weeks. I have managed to stay quiet for the bigger part of year and two weeks before the elections I can't stop myself from blabbing about this.

Well if this isn't hilarious then I don't know. John McCain asks his archenemy Russia or rather Russia's UN ambassador for a financial contribution towards his campaign to "help ensure McCain's victory over Democratic rival Sen. Barack Obama".

"If I have the honour of continuing to serve you, I make you this promise: We will always put America -- her strength, her ideals, her future -- before every other consideration," McCain assured Churkin the Russian UN ambassador.

The Russian's had a good laugh but said it was only human and they were sure it was a mistake. No shit Sherlock.

Anyway all of this would only be half as funny had McCain's posse not accused Obama earlier of not doing enough screening for illegal contributors and asked election officials to investigate AND if he had not suggested to exclude Russia from the group of the eight leading industrial nations (G8) because of the war with Georgia in August.

I guess that's what you call tough luck.

i find politics such an amusing soap opera, and this time around - it's like watching a train wreck! between mccain and palin... they have made politics downright enjoyable for a canadian like myself! :) i maintain that if i was living in the united states, i would still find this all very amusing... :)

Gawd, I'm with Melissa. This was a HUGE, two-faced oops. Ick.

Two weeks to go!

Paper Propaganda A soap opera that is exactly what it is.

Melissa Well let's hope for the best. A few years ago I would have said no way Obama can't win now. Now? I am not so sure anymore. Ever since Bush was re-elected in 2004...Go figure.

Melisa Two more weeks, can you believe it? Seems like an eternity now.

Just the other day there was an article in a German newspaper showing several different photographs (non were doctored) and he was always sticking his tongue out. WTF?
