aircon - love and hate

Having heard a lot about Seattle, the emerald city and the weather here in general it is ironic that I am here for a conference in 90°F weather, stuck inside an airconditioned building all day. Not that I am complaining about air condition in general it is just that I wonder why there is no way to adjust it so that you don't sweat like a pig or freeze to death. Because the latter is what I am doing.

Which makes coming out of the sessions bad and going back in even worse. You come out starting to sweat almost immediately but having to go back inside after having sweated all over yourself-not a good idea.

So I am taking bets on how long it will take until I come down with a cold. I reckon it'll happen in a day or two? Anyone else in? What's your experience with it? Do u crank your aircon up at home?

No, I don't crank mine up much. But ugh, when you're in a business thing and don't have the option of adjusting the huge conference room's temp, that's the worst. I hope you don't get sick. :(

I've never really had much experience with air-con. We have an "environmentally-friendly" system at work, that isn't air con. It does keep the temperature reasonably constant, but there are hot and cool spots in the building. And no way to control the temperature yourself.

I'm probably showing my age now, but in the old days we had things called "windows" that you could open when it was warm...

I always have my A/C on at home. I recently went to my mother's to visit in NY where A/C is a luxury and not really needed. I stayed for about a month and when I got back home to my A/C...I got sick. I knew there was a reason I moved.
