staying alive

Hubby and I were watching a TV program last night. One of the topics was what you should do in case someone goes into cardiac arrest.

They had 30 dummies in the TV studio and people from the audience were supposed to reanimate them. Not a whole lot of people knew what to do and so they had a doctor later on explaining how it is properly done.

Among the things he said was that you should do a cardiac massage at a speed equaling 100 beats per minute. The host of the show then asked how you're supposed to know how fast that is, the doctor had this tip. Sing the Bee Gee’s song ‘Stayin' Alive’ in your head. It has the perfect rhythm. 'Stayin' Alive' .... let that sink in.

It’s a serious topic but that just made us laugh out loud

There's an episode of The Office (American version) where they are learning CPR and they're told this. Michael starts singing and then the guy who was engaged to Angels and then the others...it was pretty funny

So people who aren't so confident about their singing ability should probably carry a metronome around just in case.
