Pretzel vs Weight Watchers

So I rejoined Weight Watchers and wouldn’t you know it they are trying to undermine my efforts already. Never mind who “they” are. I have no clue either.

So I get into work this morning as I would on any other day. Only it is the birthday of one of my colleagues. It is customary to bring something yummy into work on your birthday. So he comes in with a crate and I do not mean a box or a tray but a real big f***er of a crate filled to the brim with pretzels. If you have ever been to Bavaria you will know exactly what I am talking about. Those huge, soft, salt sprinkled Pretzels. The size of a baby or your underarm.

My colleague just happened to come straight from the Bakery so they were still warm. I thought I was gonna die if I can’t have one right there and then. So I did. I found out later that they are not that bad in points and that I would just have to watch what I am going to eat for dinner tonight.

The hubby organized another meeting of all the former colleagues that used to be working in Dublin with him. It is supposed to go down tonight. They even have on Irish and two Swedish guests tonight. But seeing as they are going to a nice Bavarian restaurant I decided to give it a pass. I will let them do their catching up and will concentrate on not thinking of the restaurants yummy yummy menu.

Somehow this all reminds me a little bit of Misguided Mommy’s post, which made me laugh my head off this morning. Please go and read the post An open letter to my OBGYN on her blog. It almost had me in tears. But I kinda feel the same only I am not pregnant :).

Anyway if you have read this you will have an understanding of what I am going through at the moment. Hehe..Stupid Pretzels!

I so want a pretzel right now!!! I love food a LOT especially the yummy ones, who doesn't? I haven't eaten a big pretzel yet so I'll put that in my to-do-list.

OMG-I LOVE soft, warm pretzels. When I was in culinary school we made some, and the smell of them baking had me going NUTS. When they came out of the oven, we all POUNCED on them and devoured them all.

I so have to make them again.

Aren't soft pretzels the best? Mags I meant to ask you how long your education in culinary school took and where you went. I used to live in Granby CT for a year back when I was an Au pair (about 10 years ago) and a friend of mine went to culinary school too. Can't remember the name of the school though. I love to cook as well and was thinking of taking up a course here in Germany as well.
