THANK YOU

I am totally psyched because the lovely Melissa over at Hope for the Hopeless awarded me or better my little blog with the True Blue Award. Thank you very much.

Melissa also honored my "evil" American twin Melisa from Suburban Scrawl with the same award.

Which brings me to a topic that I have been putting off because I was either too busy or too lazy and Melisa, being the awesome organized and truly amazing woman that she is, has been really patient with me. I suppose it is because foreigners make her "giddy". There's no other way she could otherwise have put up with my tardiness (and quite possible because she can't just run over to my house and kick me in the behind).

Most of you probably know Melisa from her two blogs Suburban Scrawl and Remembering Ruby. She is a woman of many talents and she is wickedly funny. Something that she must have inherited because you see, her sister Julie, who is well known in the blog world with her blog House of Jules, is also very, very funny.

Now Melisa and I seem to have a lot of things in common and we seem to share the same kind of humor. That is why I hope that she and her family will make it to Germany in 2010 so we can finally hang out and enjoy each others company. Anyway, Melisa managed to surprise me twice in the last months by sending me two packages. The first package contained a signed copy of her awesome book Remembering Ruby and a lovely card. As well as a funny drawing on the envelope that I am sure made our post lady wonder just what that was supposed to mean.

The second only arrived some time last week (yes I am that lazy) and was another big surprise. Melisa knew I wanted to join the tiara club. I mean I too want to go out and run daily errands or do some good wearing a tiara. Melisa knew I had a hard time finding one and asked me not to buy one. Apparently I am not one to easily take a hint. Along with the tiara she sent a bag of Jelly Beans, a pink cat toy, Hershey's Easter Eggs, two lovely fridge magnets, her favorite kinds of gum and a card that made me laugh so hard the husband thought I was going to choke.
Look how awesome my tiara is!

The package in all its glory!
Lilly couldn't wait to get her paws on the toy...

I have now vowed to send something similar awesome to her and her family and am in the midst of getting "the goods". Words cannot express what these two surprises meant to me. After all we were mere strangers a while ago who met in the blog world. Melisa I want to THANK YOU for bringing a smile to my face every single day and thank you also for going that extra mile and sending candy to strangers that you met over the internet :) You are awesome and your family is blessed to have such a lovely daughter, sister, wife, mother, woman and friend in you. I know I am and I am grateful for that.

So for visualisation purposes I have finally managed to put up these pictures.

Vielen dank for the lovely post! Really, it wasn't necessary but I loved it! :)

I had a lot of fun packaging that stuff up for you, and I'm glad you didn't choke to death laughing at the card because THAT would have been tragic. :)

You look great in the tiara! Do you think that we'll have to walk 10 paces ahead of our hubbys and my kids in 2010 if we wear our tiaras while walking around Marienplatz? hee hee

Melisa Oh no THANK YOU. This post was long overdue and I feel like an idiot for not posting it sooner.

Teehee I am pretty sure that our hubby's and your kids will certainly make it seem as though we don't belong to the party when we strut around in our tiaras but I really don't care LOL.
