It is hard to believe that some movies make me weep like a child even as a grown up woman of almost 33. Up until I was 25 years old I have never been a big crier when it came to movies.
I remember sitting next to my then boyfriend at age 18, watching The Lion King and Apollo 13. I vividly remember that during the most touching scenes I heard sobs and when I looked over I saw a grown man cry like a baby, when I was merely choked up. He was an army officer for crying out loud and he couldn’t keep his shit together. It struck me as weird.
Then I saw La vita è bella with Roberto Benigni and it was as if a dam broke inside me and I cried watching Sweet Home Alabama, Just like Heaven and a gazillion other chick flicks. Most disturbingly though I am a sucker for crying at animated movies. When I thought the Tiger in the first Ice Age movie died, I cried as long and hard as I never had before and of course now the hubby and I sat on the couch watching Kung Fu Panda and I cried like crazy when Shifu tells his story and then realizes his only chance for peace is to accept the truth and make the panda the dragon warrior…..sob.
Are you a bawler when it comes to films and what type of film makes you cry the most?

I don't generally react that way to films. The only film that made me shed a tear, was, embarrassingly enough, the end of An Affair to Remember. I think that was more relief though, as Deborah Kerr's behaviour in the second half is so annoying. I'm told you have to be a woman to really understand it.
I am a crier and, like you, I cry at animated movies as well as live action.
The movie I cannot live down for crying at is "The Rugrats Movie". Yep, you read that right.
*so ashamed*
I cried at the end of The Sound of Music when the whole Von Trapp family don't get machine gunned.
The last movie I saw was the animated flick Up. I cried through the whole thing, started in the first 10 minutes when there wasn't even any dialogue.
LOL! The amount of crying I do has completely to do with how much wine I have had and who is present. My sister and I watched "little women" the other night and BOTH cried. (I think there was wine). ; )
When I am alone I will CRY MY EYES OUT. OMG- Nights in Rodanthe KILLED ME.
