airport run

One of the advantages of living close to the airport is that you are there in a jiffy aaand you get to pick up your friends all the time.

I really love going to the airport, as long as I don't have to fly myself. Tonight I got to pick up my "adopted" brother. We're not really family but if I had a brother he would be like him. So as I'm waiting for him to come out I have plenty of time to study the faces of the other passengers exiting the security zone and you would expect to see a few happy faces but I don't see even one happy face. And I am thinking to myself that this is weird. Ok, travel can be exhausting but isn't anybody happy to be home or to return to your loved ones?

As much as I enjoy being abroad, there is nothing better than coming home.

I'm always glad to arrive back here, but since I'm usually coming off an overnight transatlantic flight and I've still got several hours to travel from the airport, I've probably not got a broad smile on my face...

Were those people coming off the same flight your adopted brother was on? I'm wondering if it was a very bumpy flight of if someone missed the barf bag. That'd make me mad too!

I'm with you. Coming home always makes me happy, as does getting off a plane to visit others. Not ONE happy face? That's just weird.

I love coming home and I'm happy on the inside...its probably the other travelers that have me cranky on the inside.

I'm only cranky until I get my luggage and am safely in a cab on the way home.
