the world really is small in the blogosphere

A lot has been happening lately. That’s where the Hase im Pfeffer liegt because if nothing happens, you’re asking yourself what to blog about? If finally something does happen, you’re too busy with whatever is going on that you forget to blog about it.

Only later you realize that a lot of things are actually happening all the time. I wonder how some of my favorite bloggers are able to churn out one great blog post after the other and I keep on asking myself what am I doing wrong?

Then I realize that I’m not doing anything wrong. I write when I have the time or the mood strikes me and if I have a dry spell, I continue to read or lurk on my favorite blogs.

I guess what I am trying to say is that I ♥ the blogosphere.

Take today for example. I was working from home and when I was finished I tuned into the Suburban WoW livestream. If you don’t know it, it’s an interactive chat show, sort of a live webcast with chat, from my not-so-evil American twin Melisa with one S and WeaselMomma. These two girls are great plus you get to chat with the other cool kids like NYCGirl0501 from NYC Girl at Heart or Tara_R from If Mom Says OK.

Sometimes I feel like I don’t really belong anywhere in the blogosphere. I have no kids, so I am not a mommy blogger and I don’t want to blog about tech stuff because tech stuff, well it’s what I do in work. I will never be able to write beautifully or with great wit because I am not a native English speaker and I simply lack the vocabulary (as well as the wit) to start with. I tried blogging in German but feel like a fish out of the water there too and when I try to think up a blog post, what comes to me is English. Weird.

Now apart from a few kids on my blogroll, that come from England, Scotland or Australia, most of my bloggy friends seem to live in the United States. Some of them have met face to face and share a special bond through, lets say an interactive chat show, driving a van full of meat across the country or donating blood while wearing a tiara etc. I feel left out. Boo hoo. But fingers crossed all of this is hopefully about to change this year and if the hubby and I are really, really lucky, we too will meet a wonderful blogger face to face. We’re thrilled and are hoping that everything works out.

Have a happy weekend everyone.

First of all, you definitely have the wit. :)

And no, you're not doing anything wrong: you don't have to post daily or even three times each week. You should blog about what YOU want, when YOU want to, because it's fun: NOT because you're trying to fit someone else's mold.

I loved that you could join us today. Tell your boss that you need to work from home on 4/2 and 4/16 also. :)

And yep, we'll know probably this weekend if the 99% chance is gonna come through on that summer visit. :)

I love your blog! I even thought you WERE a native English speaker... I really hope your plans to have a meet-up this summer works out.

It was also great that you got to join everyone on the livestream today.

1st, I have to say that sometimes I feel that way also. Not really sure WHY I am even out here. My kids are older, so not too much "mommy" stuff.

Also I am new to all this so I feel like I know nothing compared to others.

PS I will totally have to check out this livestream.

Dude, you are doing nothing wrong.

I myself feel like I'm on a lucky streak with blog post ideas but I know someday it won't be that way. So my "rule"(as I use the word loosely) is blog when I have something to say.

Going to through my reader is a project than can keep me busy for days. Each week I find two more new blogs to follow. Thanks to your "sis" who got me hooked :)

Anyway I love your blog and I cannot tell you how happy I was to see your name on the livestream for Suburban Wow! I felt like we shared an experience and it meant a lot to me :)

I think you are wildly entertaining and witty! I'm sorry I don't click over more often to comment.

As someone who's met Melisa "in real life" I can guarantee that you'll love her even more once you meet her. I'm crossing my fingers that it happens for you guys!

PS-if you ever go to CT again, PLEASE tell me. You were right near where I used to live and only about a 2 hour drive from me!!!!
